Challenge Accepted

Ingersoll Council has accepted a challenge from OPAL to reduce their waste output.

INGERSOLL - OPAL alliance has challenged Ingersoll council to participate in the Zero Waste Challenge.

Councillors, Mayor included have said they will participate in the month long event in which council will self-monitor their waste output.

OPAL Chair, Bryan Smith points out this is one way council can take symbolic action in addressing why the town doesn't need a dump.

Council will have a tracking sheet that will inform them about what is compostable, recyclable and disposable. A Smith point out that it's a matter of developing a routine when it comes to disposing of items. Council will also have the ability to challenge other municipalities to partake in the Zero Waste Challenge.
