People can head to the Swing into Spring fundraiser today.
WOODSTOCK - The Church of Epiphany is holding a fundraiser today.
They are hosting a silent auction and selling homemade pies and tarts.
Chairman of the Church of Epiphany Joyce Grey says it is a fun event, which includes some competitive bidding on some items.
"It's fun, especially at the silent auction. There is a lot of fun to it because people will come and bid against each other. We've done this before and I've seen it happen over the years. People come out and bid against each other, it might only be $0.50 more, whoever gets the highest bid gets the thing at three o'clock."
Grey says people can come in and bid on items and write down their name and phone number. Following the event, they will determine who bid the highest on each item and then that person will be contacted to come and pick it up and pay.
She says the auction features several items that were donated by local businesses.
"I went to the stores, a lot of the stores in Woodstock and that they donated things. They all donate things and some of the congregation donated things. We have a fishing tackling box, we have a pale for cleaning the car, we have a shredder. We have 187 items. And there are also Muskoka chairs, two Muskoka chairs to put together, cooler, a lot of gift cards and some paintings too that's been painted by people in the church hanging on the wall."
The fundraiser began yesterday and it goes from 9:00am to 3:00pm.
Proceeds from the event will go towards fixing or replacing the church's organ.
