These payments are made under an equitable formula in the Municipality Contribution Agreement. Woodstock has received more than $21 million in non-tax gaming revenue since June 2001.
WOODSTOCK - The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation issued a first-quarter non-tax gaming revenue payment to the City of Woodstock.
The OLG announced in a press release yesterday that the Friendly City received $432,364 for the first quarter of this year for hosting Gateway Casinos. The payment was for April 1st to June 30th.
Oxford MPP Ernie Hardeman says the funds help improve communities.
"OLG has established tremendous partnerships with host municipalities and the revenue generated at these local gaming sites is helping to improve the quality of life for individuals and families right across the province. These funds are invested in plenty of important projects, including much needed investment in local infrastructure, community programs and services, roads and public transit."
These payments are made under an equitable formula in the Municipality Contribution Agreement, which determines the funds that cities receive for hosting a gaming facility and are based on a graduated scale of gaming revenue that is consistent across all sites across the province.
The city of Woodstock has received more than $21 million in non-tax gaming revenue since June 2001.
The OLG provides the provincial government with its largest source of non-tax revenue from Government Business Enterprises. This has amounted to $2.49 billion from 2017 to 2018.
