At least one classroom in the region is already shut down after the first day of school because of a COVID-19 exposure.
AYR - Well it didn't take long for a classroom to get shut down because of a COVID-19 exposure.
Parents in a grade 1/2 class at St. Brigid Catholic School in Ayr received a phone a call last night after the first day of school. The entire class has been shut down for 10 days because of the exposure and all students are required to self-isolate as they are not eligible for the vaccine.
The current rules in place require all unvaccinated students to self isolate for 10 days if they come into contact with someone with COVID-19. Vaccinated students will be allowed back to school
