Closures Today

The nasty freezing rain that has blanketed Oxford County has caused several services and business closures.

OXFORD COUNTY - Due to the freezing rain on the roads today, many businesses or services have decided to close for the day:

- As of right now CMHA Oxford has closed all locations and will not be offering walk-in counseling in Tavistock.

- As well, EarlyON Child & Family Centres and South Gate Centre in Woodstock will be closed for the day.

- The Oxford Children's Aid offices are closed but will be providing emergency services.

- The Soup Bowl Kitchen at the First Baptist Church on Beale Street is cancelled today.

- Due to weather conditions, Woodstock Transit is unable to follow the usual bus routes. Buses will be traversing the major arterial roads in the city (Dundas, Parkinson, Devonshire, Vansittart, Norwich, Mill, Wellington and Huron). Paratransit has been cancelled.

- The Township of Zorra Administration Office and Recreation Facilities are OPEN today! Today's Council meeting will begin at 9:00 am as previously scheduled. Please take the necessary precautions as you head out today.

- East Zorra Tavistock has cancelled their council meeting scheduled for today because of the weather.

- Special Olympics Bowling at C&D Lanes is cancelled today because of the weather.

- The Tim Hortons on Norwich Ave has re-opened after a water man break this morning and is running as usual.

- The Ingersoll Legion is cancelling all of their events today because of the weather.

- Due to the weather & road conditions today, Drop-In and Homework Club are cancelled for this evening at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Woodstock. They are also postponing Bowl for Kids Sake tonight and the event will carry on for Friday and Saturday.

- The Woodstock Library is closing at 5:00 pm today and cancelled their after school program that normally starts at 3:45 p.m.

- The Woodstock Art Gallery has cancelled the Our Life Drawing class tonight due to the weather.

- Ingersoll Skating Club has cancelled their Learn to Skate program for tonight.

- Good Beginnings Child Care is also closed today.

- All evening classes have been cancelled at the Fanshawe College location in Woodstock.

- The Brant Sports Complex, Burford Community Centre, South Dumfries Community Centre and Syl Apps Community Centre will all close down early at 4:00 pm today because of the weather.

There may be more service and business closures today, it is best to call ahead for any appointments to ensure they are open.
