Two vehicles were taken off the road during a commercial enforcement blitz in Woodstock on Tuesday.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police joined forces with the OPP for a Commercial Vehicle Enforcement blitz.
Police in Woodstock inspected 13 commercial vehicles and charged five operators on Tuesday. The charges were for not having a secure load, not having a slow moving vehicle sign, not having a valid CVOR certificate and not carrying a vehicle lease document.
Two vehicles were taken off the road during the enforcement blitz and four were issued warnings.
Constable Nikki VanLeeuwen says motorists have to keep an eye out for commercial vehicles and we all need to share the road.
"Part of the onus for keeping our roads safe rests on the shoulders of other drivers. Remember that semis have several blind spots. Make sure you are not in the drivers blind spot. These blind spots are at the hood of the cab, make sure you can see the entire truck cab before you pull in front of the vehicle. Avoid the area immediately behind semis."
