There will be a name on the ballot for School Board Trustee in Oxford for Conseil Scholaire Viamonde.
OXFORD - There is a name in the running for a school board trustee.
David Paradis is once again running for the position with Conseil Scholaire Viamonde. He is the current Trustee for the school board and only has two schools, which are located in Sarnia. Paradis grew up in Chatham-Kent, then moved to Toronto for work. He has since moved back to Chatham-Kent with his wife. Paradis shares what he would like to do if elected to the position.
"I'm seeking to open French public schools in every city represented in my region over the next four years. It's a very big goal, but the province has also shown a willingness to hear from us on projects that we bring to them."
Paradis says Oxford County is under the jurisdiction and has plans for the County.
"Not currently, and that's something we're aiming to change. Oxford is currently served for French schools, mainly by the Catholic Board."
Residents head to the polls on Monday, October 26th.
