Ingersoll Town Council discussed several issues including train whistling, culverts and pot holes
INGERSOLL - Ingersoll Council spent over three hours discussing everything from what to do with the parks and recreation guide to a town hall meeting set for March 24th. Here is a brief recap of the meeting.
A public meeting will be held in Ingersoll regarding train whistling in the town. The focus will be on exploring the options when it comes to ending train whistling are certain locations. It has been warned that it would be a costly endeavour. Ingersoll Town Engineer Sandra Lawson said CP rail and CN rail representatives will be at the meeting to speak with members of the public.

Warm weather is melting snow and revealing the ugly effects of the cold winter on the roads. Ingersoll crews are working to put temporary solutions in place for pot holes until the ice thaws. The cold mix put in place until asphalt can be used is popping out because of the fluctuating temperatures. Ingersoll Town Engineer Sandra Lawson points out it could be some time before crews can fill in the pot holes with asphalt.
If residents spot a hole they are told to contact the engineering department at the town.

Ingersoll's capital budget received a significant boost from the province. The funding will be used to repair a culvert near Henderson Creek to prevent it from collapsing on a sanitary sewer underneath that could potentially send sewage into Henderson Creek which feeds the Thames River. Ingersoll Town Engineer Sandra Lawson said the funding is a big win for the town and credits the asset management strategy for securing it.
