Carolyn King will become Oxford County's Director of Financial Services next week.
OXFORD - A familiar face will be taking over as the Director of Financial Services for Oxford County.
Carolyn King has been the county's Treasurer since July and she will add Director of Financial Services to her job title on Monday, December 15th.
She's excited for this next step in her career.
"I am honoured to take on the role of Director of Financial Services. Oxford County is at an exciting stage of growth and change, and I look forward to leading our finance team in developing innovative, forward-looking strategies that support sustainable community development. Together, we will ensure responsible stewardship of public resources while enabling initiatives that strengthen the County’s future prosperity and resilience."
This means she will oversee a range of financial services including accounts payable and receivable, as well as payroll and purchasing. She'll also lead the county's $400 million annual budget and oversee the county's $4 billion asset management plan.
King was first hired by the county in 2011 as a Financial Analyst and she is currently serving as the Senior Manager of Financial Services. CAO Ben Addley says she's the perfect person for the job.
"Oxford County has established strong financial policy and performance, which has allowed us to maintain an AAA credit rating. It is our strong financial practices that lay the groundwork for a healthy, vibrant, and sustainable future. Carolyn’s contributions and achievements over the years have demonstrated her ability to lead us through the increasingly complex demands of municipal financial management."
