All cyclists are encouraged to log their km as the county is just shy of the quarter way mark on the Million km Challenge
Oxford County still has a long way to go to reach their million kilometre goal.
The project was launched last year and after this summer people have tracked close to 220 000 kilometres. Public Health Nurse Lorna Boratto tells Heart FM they are hoping some people still have to log their kilometres.
"We know there is a lot of people out there who have been biking quite a bit this summer, we certainly see everybody out on their two wheels and we want to encourage everyone to put their kilometres in so we can show everyone just how much we are cycling here in Oxford County."
She explains why they started this campaign in the Spring of 2014.
"Well it was two fold: one to encourage cycling within the County, and two to encourage safer cycling and share the road and increase the awareness of cyclists being on the road and sharing the road with motorists."
Boratto says it is really easy to log your kilometres at www.rideoxford.ca and they encourage people to do so.
