Theatre Woodstock will debut the first production of its 80th season this Friday.
WOODSTOCK - It's the perfect show for spooky season!
Dracula: A Chamber Musical will make it's Theatre Woodstock debut this Friday.
It follows the original story by Bram Stoker for the most part, and Musical Director Shannon Wijinker says it's not your typical musical.
"Usually when you think of a musical you think of a big flashy production, but this one is not big and flashy. It's intimate, gothic, suspenseful and there's less people in it with only seven actors and singers. We've also got a small chamber orchestra playing along with us."
The orchestra will consists of piano and strings.
Fenn Hafey will bring the character of Renfield to life on stage.
"Renfield is Dracula's spooky servent, so gets the opportunity to go out menace the audience from time to time. But there is more to him than they because there's some emotions as well."
The show is about two hours long and tickets are $32 each. with the exception of Thrifty Thursday on Thursday, October 22nd. Those who attend on opening night will have the opportunity to meet the cast and enjoy delicious food from Scott's No Frills. The Charles Dicken's Pub will also serve drinks for every performance.
The final curtain call is scheduled for Sunday, October 25th and tickets can be purchased through the Theatre Woodstock website online here.
Shannon Wijinker and Fenn Hafey stopped by the Heart FM studio to chat with Dan and Marcie on Friday, October 9th. You can listen to the full interview below:
