It was a good month for the Woodstock Ingersoll Tillsonburg and Area Association of Realtors.
OXFORD COUNTY - Home sales were good for the Woodstock Ingersoll Tillsonburg and Area Association of Realtors.
Last month, over 154 homes were sold, which was an increase of 4.1 percent from September of 2025. Home sales were 17.2 percent above the five-year average and 4.2 percent above the 10-year average for the month of September. Residential sales haven't hit this level in the month of September in five years.
Also, the dollar value of all home sales in September 2026 was $98 million, increasing by 3.4 percent from the same month in 2025. The dollar volume of all homes sold hasn't been this high in the month of September in five years.
President of the Woodstock Ingersoll Tillsonburg & Area Association of Realtors, Paul de Jonge, talks about the success in September.
"September delivered a solid showing, with sales rising from August and reaching their highest reading for the month since 2021. New listings also increased month over month and remained above the historical norms for this time of year, while active listings at the end of the month continued to provide buyers with plenty of choice."
He adds there was some downside last month.
"At the same time, the MLS® HPI Benchmark Composite Price declined for the fourth consecutive month, reflecting the moderation in sales activity and total dollar volume since the market’s June peak. Market balance has changed very little over the past few months, continuing to tilt slightly in favour of buyers. In an environment like this, where pricing, inventory, and negotiating conditions can vary from neighbourhood to neighbourhood, working with a trusted local REALTOR® can provide valuable insight and help both buyers and sellers make
informed decisions."
On a year-to-date basis, home sales totalled 1,305 units over the first nine months of the year. This was up modestly by 2.8% from the same period in 2025.
