Residents in Woodstock had the opportunity to hear candidates answer questions as the municipal election draws closer.
WOODSTOCK - The municipal election is just weeks away.
Unifor Local 636 held mayoral/deputy mayoral as well as councillor/county-councillor candidate debates yesterday. Unifor Local 636 President Brent Thompson mediated the events and shared his thoughts.
"I thought it went very well. It was very well attended, and all the candidates were very professional and very respectful, and there were a lot of good questions asked and answered."
Thompson says the questions covered a wide range of topics.
"It was a wide range of questions. I mean, and actually both of the debates, it was affordability, growth and infrastructure, procurement, and housing."
Thompson adds he thinks the people of Woodstock have lots of great candidates to vote for, and every candidate is passionate about trying to make the city better. He says if you want the candidate you support to get a seat on the council, you need to head to the polls and cast your ballot.
