One person has died after a head on crash involving a commercial vehicle and a passenger vehicle on Brantford Road.

NORFOLK - An investigation is underway after a deadly crash on Brantford Road.

In a video posted on the OPP West Region X page, Sergeant Ed Sanchuk said the call came in shortly before 7:00 a.m. today.

"The Norfolk County OPP along with fire and paramedic services responded to a head on crash involving a commercial motor vehicle and a passenger vehicle. I'm sad to say that the driver of the passenger vehicle suffered serious, life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene."

The driver of the commercial vehicle was not hurt.

The video was posted at around 9:00 a.m. today, and Sanchuk said officers were still at the scene.

"Brantford Road is closed right now between Windham Centre Road and Windham Road 7 as our West Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement Team continue to investigate."

He said the area was expected to remain closed for the next six to eight hours.

Sanchuk also had this message for a certain driver out there.

"For the motoring public, especially the driver that ran into a road closed sign causing significant damage to not only to the sign but also their vehicle, you're being encouraged to contact the Norfolk OPP to make a collision report. It's best that you come and talk to us before we have to knock on your door."
