17 people were charged with distracted driving in Ingersoll this week.
INGERSOLL - Oxford OPP have handed out 17 distracted driving tickets in Ingersoll.
All of the charges happened in the last week. Officers have been on foot patrol in the main core of the town. The foot patrol officers caught multiple people using their cell phones while driving leading to the charges. They then called in a patrol car officer to pull over the distracted drivers.
During the foot patrols 17 people were charged with distracted driving and another 7 were charged with disobeying a stop sign.
Oxford County OPP would like to remind the public to put your cell phones away and concentrate on the roadways. Distracted driving is one of the leading causes of death.
