Officials say five staff members and one resident have tested positive for COVID-19 at the Woodingford Lodge Woodstock site.
WOODSTOCK - A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at the Woodingford Lodge Woodstock site.
A statement on Oxford County's website says five staff members and one resident have tested positive for the virus.
Officials say all residents will take a PCR test and all employees will receive a rapid test at the start of their shift.
Residents living in the two units with positive cases were immediately tested and they are now isolated in their rooms.
The long-term care home has also suspended social outings for residents and the home is now closed to all visitors with the exception of fully-vaccinated essential caregivers.
In addition to the outbreak, the County has also confirmed two new cases of the virus at the Woodingford Lodge Ingersoll site. They're both staff members and all residents will undergo PCR testing.
The Ford Government recently announced new restrictions for long-term care homes across the province and you can read more about that online here.
