It's the time of year to think about honouring some great sports accomplishments in Woodstock's history. Nominations are being taken now for this year's Sports Wall of Fame inductions. The committee will be making the decisions in May, and you have until the end of the month to submit names or teams in the 6 categories. Mark Schaddenberg is on the selection committee and says there are probably some names from long ago that are deserving of a place on the wall. "There are probably some people out there, I'm thinking historically, say, 70, 80 or 90-years-ago, someone that maybe was significant in the starting up of minor hockey in Woodstock, for example, that hasn't been recognized in the past." The Sports Wall of Fame began in 1996 in the Woodstock Community Complex. The categories include male and female athlete, a team accomplishment. There's a builder of sport category, historic category and a lifetime achievement award. More details and the nomination form can be found here.
