WOODSTOCK - A donation drive starts today for Operation Sharing and the Inn, Oxford County's only homeless shelter.
Jessica Hofstetter explains why she organized the drive.
"Growing up, I wasn't very well off and we actually depended a lot on the Operation Sharing food drives for food, winter clothes and even toys at Christmas time. With everything going on, I am very grateful to still be working and being able to afford brand new winter stuff for my kids, but it got me thinking about all the people who can't afford it right now and are unsure of what to do during these rough times. Having that history of coming from an unfortunate circumstance, it's nice to be in a spot where I can give back."
Donations are down across the board for Operation Sharing this year and they really need winter clothes for all ages, personal hygiene products, cleaning products, gift cards and cash to help people with Christmas presents.
You can make a donation in Woodstock at Edward Jones Financial at 11 Riddell Street, Century 21 on Dundas Street and at Big D's Sandwich Shack on Springbank Ave in the Carmen Photoshop plaza.
