Polling stations will be open everywhere from 9:30am-9:30pm tomorrow
OXFORD COUNTY - It's decision time for Canadians all over the country as they get ready to cast their ballot in the federal election.
Elections Canada is reminding everyone to double check the information on your voter's information card and make sure it is correct. You will also find your polling station on the card. Oxford County polls will be open from 9:30 a.m. until 9:30 p.m.
Spokesperson for Elections Canada Serge Fleyfel says they are hoping to make things as quick and painless as possible. "If you brought your voter information card, you will be put on the fast track. The person will look at it and will direct you directly to the right table, so it will be very fast."
Be sure you also bring proper identification with your name, address, and a picture. In most cases, people use their driver's license. If you don't have something like that, Fleyfel says there is also a second option. "You can present two documents both with your name and one with your address. It could be a library card, a student card, a hydro bill. Even an electronic bill on your phone. If you receive your phone bill right there on your mobile device, you could show it."
If you're unsure about what can and cannot be used as identification, or if you have further questions, visit Elections Canada online.
