Police are warning the public about two youths who are canvassing money for a fake cause in Tillsonburg.
TILLSONBURG - Oxford OPP are warning residents in Tillsonburg about some aggressive door to door canvassers.
Police say they received several complaints from people living in the Whispering Pine area. At least two homes were approached by two young men who were asking for cash donations to the Upper Deck Youth Centre - Youth For Christ. OPP have confirmed that the youth centre is not collecting donations door to door right now. Police are still investigating to see if the youths did receive any money for their fake cause.
The young men are described as being between the ages of 16 and 18, they are both white, one has reddish hair and is about 6'0 tall and the other one is heavier set with small marks on his face.
The OPP is asking residents to be vigilant in recognizing suspicious people or vehicles that are in your neighbourhoods. It is important for this information to get to police when the suspects may still be in the area.
