Lyons Line at Whittaker Road is expected to be closed until the afternoon to allow for investigation.
ELGIN - A crash in Malahide has left a driver with life-threatening injuries.
At around 7:00 a.m., emergency services responded to a collision involving an electric bike and pickup truck at the intersection of Lyons Line and Whittaker Road.
Elgin OPP determined that the pickup truck left rolled over and collided with a hydro pole. They also found that it was hauling a livestock trailer containing a horse and that the horse escaped the trailer. It was located on the roadway with minor injuries.
As for the driver of the electric bike, they were transported to a local area hospital with serious life-threatening injuries. The driver of the pickup truck was also sent to the hospital, but his injuries were described as minor.
Lyons Line is currently closed at Whittaker Road. The closure is anticipated to last until the afternoon to allow for investigation. Further updates on the collision and the condition of those involved will be provided when they become available.
