Submitted photo of Chloe, Ella and Caitlyn Shelton

Do not disturb Oxford County between 11:00 pm and 2:00 am this evening as we will be watching hockey.

Ella Shelton will have her entire family, friends, Oxford County and the entire country of Canada cheering her on when she competes for a gold medal at the Olympics tonight.

Shelton plays defence for Canada in women's hockey as they get set to do battle with team USA tonight for a gold medal. The puck drop is slated for 11:10 pm.

Shelton has 3 assists at the tournament thus far and is a plus 8. She is listed as the 7th defenceman for Team Canada and as one of the younger players on Team Canada.

Her family will be watching the game together at the Shelton farm in Folden's. Earlier Heart FM was able to catch up with Ella's parents Warren and Cathy Shelton. You can listen to their reaction below:

They will be joined at the farm by Ella's uncle Chris Shelton, aunt Marcia Shelton and cousins Chloe and Caitlyn Shelton. Heart FM was able to talk with them today as well. Chris told us about how Ella really perfected her game joining him in the Ingersoll old timers league where she was a plus 100. Chloe and Caitlyn got to share their experiences playing hockey with Ella growing up and Marcia talked about the amazing community support, the signs and the love Ella has gotten these past couple of weeks.

You can listen to the interview with them below:

Heart FM will be playing both of these interviews live later today. The interview with Warren and Cathy will run at 4:45 pm and the interview with the extended Shelton family will run at 5:25 pm.
