For a second year in a row, the Zorra Caledonian Society has decided to cancel the Embro Highland Games due to the pandemic.
EMBRO - The Zorra Caledonian Society has decided to cancel the Embro Highland Games for a second year in a row due to the pandemic.
It was supposed take place on Thursday July 1st, 2021 and the decision to cancel the popular event was to ensure the health and safety of everyone involved.
This is only the third time the games have been cancelled since 1937. The first was during World War 2 in the summer of 1942 and the second was due to the pandemic last year.
The Zorra Caledonian Society is still planning a few special events in order to celebrate "The Spirit of the Games" on Canada Day this year, but it's all depending on COVID-19 restrictions.
The organizers are looking forward to seeing everyone at the Embro Highland Games in July 2022.
