Donald "Don" Lazenby passed away at the age of 87.
EZT - The Township of East Zorra-Tavistock is remembering a former councillor.
Donald "Don" Lazenby represented Ward 3 from 2010 to 2014 and he passed away at the age of 87. His obituary on the Glendinning Funeral Home website says he died peacefully at his home on Thursday.
The flags have been lowered at Township buildings in his honour and the municipality also offered its condolences to his family in a post on Facebook.
Outside of politics, his obituary says he was a teacher at College Ave Secondary School and WCI before he decided to return to dairy farming. He was also inducted to the Ontario Agricultural Hall of Fame in 2004 for his work with Ontario Junior Farmers, Canadian 4H, the Oxford County Holstein Club, and Ontario Dairy Herd Improvement (DHI),
His celebration of life is scheduled for Saturday, April 11th at Oxford Baptist Church. The visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. and the service will start one hour later.
