Emergency crews searched the Pittock Conservation Area after someone reported hearing a child in distress yesterday. No child was found.
WOODSTOCK - There was a heavy police presence at the Pittock Conservation Area, while officers responded to a report of a child in need of help.
Someone had called Woodstock Police and reported hearing a child crying in the woods east of the Conservation Day Use Area yesterday morning. Emergency crews searched the area but they did not find anything.
The investigation is still ongoing, so anyone with information should call the Woodstock Police Service at 519-537-2323 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
It's also important to note that the Woodstock Police Service has not received any reports of a missing child at this time.
