We're in for a colder than usual February here in Oxford County.
WOODSTOCK - A cold snap is expected to hit Oxford County starting this weekend with daytime highs of minus 8 and minus 9.
Meteorologist with Environment Canada Geoff Coulson says they are forecasting a colder than normal February.
"A real blast of cold air is coming down and this particular cold air mass looks like it is going to be persistent, beginning as we head into the weekend and next week but some of the models are indicating that colder than normal air could be with us for the month of February."
Coulson says the daytime highs in the long term forecast are colder than normal for this time of year.
"As we head into the weekend, those overnight lows could be dipping down as cold as minus 14, minus 15, and to put those numbers into context, the normal low for this time of year is about minus 10 and the normal daytime high is about minus 2."
