Pilot disorientation is being blamed for a fatal plane crash that killed two people from Tillsonburg in 2015.
TILLSONBURG - The Transportation Safety Board has released it's report into the fatal plane crash that killed a couple from Tillsonburg.
On November 9th, 2015 Philip and Jane Esseltine were flying from the Parry Sound Area Municipal Airport to Tillsonburg. They were coming home after a vacation at their cottage and were flying their Cessna 182.
Philip Esseltine was flying the plane when it went down killing him and his wife. The Transportation Safety Board says the flight went down due to pilot disorientation. It's possible Philip didn't realize how little lighting there would be to guide him during his nighttime takeoff.
