GasBuddy.com has been pouring over the data from the last year, to determine the best days to buy gasoline. You might be surprised to learn that Sunday, Monday and Tuesday are the best days to fill up at the pumps.
ONTARIO - A new study from GasBuddy.com suggests the best day to buy gas in Ontario is on Sunday.
Head of Petroleum Analyst Patrick De-Haan says they looked at data over the past year.
"Well it varies by Province, if you are in Ontario, the cheapest day to buy gas is on Sunday and the most expensive day is on Thursday. It is kind of a mixed bag, depending where you are in Ontario, the worst generally to fill up is over the weekend, accept for Ontario, which is the only Province where the cheapest day to buy gas is on Sunday."
De-Haan Monday and Tuesday are the next cheapest days to buy gas in Ontario and Thursday is the most expensive.
"Sunday is the best day, followed by Monday and things progressively get worst throughout the week, culminating with the highest average on Thursday. Friday is close to Thursday, and things start to taper off a bit by Saturday and then Sunday is the cheapest day to buy gas in Ontario."
De-Haan says oil prices are up right now.
"Oil prices are up, on the promise that US and China have agreed to a trade deal but, US gasoline inventories, which are a big factor on prices in both countries, took a big jump up last week, so that could ease prices a little bit. Oil prices remain around $60, it is going to be a bumpy week. I think we probably will see limited price increase by Christmas, but overall prices remain far below where they are for the summer. We may see lower prices in January and February as well, so don't be surprised if you see minor fluctuations in price."
The average price of gas in Woodstock this morning is $1.11.
