Five drivers were caught in a traffic enforcement effort by the Woodstock Police on Sunday. Police were focusing on suspended drivers and the use of improper licence plates on vehicles. All five drivers charged were men. Three of them were charged with Driving While Suspended while one faces a charge of driving without a licence. Two charges of Driving with Improper plates were laid as well as two charges of Driving without Insurance, which is a minimum 5-thousand dollar fine. All five vehicles were towed from the scene at the owner's expense. Each driver will be appearing in court to answer to their charges. The Woodstock Police Service want remind all drivers who may choose to drive under similar circumstances that the fines for such offences are quite severe and only get higher with subsequent convictions.
