Woodstock Police were forced to call off the pursuit of a stolen vehicle due to the fog early this morning. A resident on Ontario Street was awakened shortly after 12:30 this morning, just in time to watch someone drive away in his 2002 Chev Avalanche. Police spotted the truck near Norwich Ave and Juliana about a half-hour later. The officer followed the truck onto the 401 eastbound ramp, with his emergency equipment activated but the truck sped off. The officer did not pursue the stolen vehicle as it was deemed unsafe with the heavy fog in the area.
