A special weather statement is expected to put a damper on what is a long weekend for many in Oxford County.
A special weather statement is expected to put a damper on what is a long weekend for many in Oxford County.
According to Environment Canada we could get anywhere from 30-60 mm of rain this weekend starting late this evening and lasting all the way until Sunday. A low pressure system arriving Saturday from the American Midwest will spread rain across most of Southern Ontario. Saturday is expected to be wet all day with a few breaks and the possibility of some isolated showers. Also you can expect some strong winds and cooler than normal temperatures for this time of year. The rain should slow down by Sunday however we are still expecting some isolated showers in the region. Rainfall warnings may be required.
Many people are taking Monday instead of Canada Day which falls on a Wednesday this year. Keep it locked onto 1047 Heart FM as we will continue to monitor the weather all weekend long.
