Police have charged 48-year-old Trevor Birtch of Woodstock with impaired driving after a two-vehicle crash on 31st Line sent one person to hospital with minor injuries.
ZORRA/WOODSTOCK - A former Mayor of Woodstock has found himself in hot water once again.
The Oxford OPP recently charged 48-year-old Trevor Birtch with operation while impaired, operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration over 80, and dangerous operation. He will answer to those charges on December 12th in a Woodstock courtroom.
This comes after OPP officers responded to a two-vehicle crash on 31st Line in Zorra Township at around 6:20 p.m. yesterday. One of the drivers was taken to hospital with minor injuries while the other was arrested.
Birtch was the Mayor of Woodstock for two terms. He was first elected in 2014 and re-elected in 2018, but placed in fourth in the 2022 mayoral race.
He's also facing assault charges in two London Police investigations. He was charged with one count of assault and two counts of sexual assault in a case that first made headlines in February 2021, and he has a four-day judge-alone trial scheduled to begin in May 2024. He is also facing three counts of sexual assault in a second case that began in April 2021, with another four-day judge-alone trial scheduled to begin in September 2024.
