Navy Vets Earn 1st Point, Merchants Roll in Tavistock

The Woodstock Navy Vets jumped out to a 3-0 lead, but couldn't hold it against a resilient Burford team.  The Vets did earn a point, after a 6-5 shootout loss to the Bulldogs Friday night.  Tyler Brown had 2 goals for the Navy Vets, who couldn't muster a goal in the shootout.

In Tavistock, the Braves outshot the Norwich Merchants, but Zac Easveld was solid in goal, stopping 37 of 38 shots, and the Merchants won 5-1.  Norwich remains the only unbeaten team at 3-0 on the young hockey season.

Midwestern Jr. C action continues tonight with Woodstock on the road in New Hamburg.
