GoFundMe Looking to Raise $10,000 for Blancher Family

The Blancher family is starting the New Year at SickKids Hospital in Toronto, waiting for open heart surgery for their newborn.

OXFORD COUNTY - A GoFundMe page is looking to raise $10,000 to help out a local family going through a difficult time.

Stephanie Blancher is 20-years-old and she welcomed her third child, a baby girl named Paislee, on Sunday December 25th.

Her friend Abi Juett says Stephanie rushed Paislee to the hospital early in the morning on New Year's Day after noticing that she wasn't eating.

"Within an hour everything had just gone completely downhill. She (Paislee) ended up being intubated, put on a ventilator, and rushed to the London Children's Hospital where they discovered that there is a severe twist in the main valve in her heart and she also has two holes in her heart."

Paislee is now at SickKids Hospital in Toronto waiting for open heart surgery.

Juett says the money raised from the GoFundMe page will help cover the Blancher's expenses during this time. This includes anything the family needs while they're staying in Toronto and the grocery costs for Stephanie's parents while they watch their other children in Ingersoll.

"Anything we can do to help lighten the financial load so it's one less thing she has to worry about and all she has to focus on is making sure Paislee gets better."

The GoFundMe page had raised over $4,600 as of 10:00 a.m. today and you can donate online here.
