All of the proceeds will go to Boots on the Ground, a 24-7 peer support helpline to all first responders.

INGERSOLL - A fundraising golf tournament is coming to Ingersoll.

On June 26th, the PTSD First Responders Golf Tournament will take place at Ingersoll Golf Club. The tournament is raising money for Boots on the Ground. Founder of Boots on the Ground Dave McLennan says what the organization does.

"We offer a 24-7 peer support helpline to all first responders. So, police, fire, EMS, corrections, military, and nurses."

McLennan mentions it is completely run by volunteers first responders, and is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. He adds that it is completely anonymous, which might encourage first responders to call and get help with what they might be dealing with. Co-organizer of the golf tournament, Jason White says you can still register for the tournament.

"Not too bad so far. We're trying to get there. We're getting close to 100, but we're hoping to finally hit 144."

Registration opens at 10:00 a.m. that day with a shotgun start at 11:00 a.m.. A bagged lunch will be provided after the first nine holes, dinner will be served around 4:00 p.m. and they also have lots of prizes to be won.

White says you can print off the registration form online here, fill it out, and send it back via email.

Jason White and Dave McLennan called the Heart FM newsroom to chat with Dan and Marcie on Tuesday, May 26th. You can listen to the full interview below:
