Feel Good story of the day see's a good Samaritan return $3,850 in cash after finding an envelope on the side of the road.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police are praising a good Samaritan from Beachville who returned nearly $4,000 in cash.
Police say the woman found the money strewn about on the roadway and ditch on Ingersoll Road this morning. She went out of the vehicle to collect the cash and counted $3,850. Instead of pocketing the money the woman turned it over to police.
Through investigation, police were able to verify the rightful owner was a worker in that area. He had mistakenly left an envelope of money on the tailgate of his truck when he drove away. The money was returned to the Woodstock resident who was very grateful. He offered the finder a reward but she declined. Police would like to thank the finder for doing the right conscionable thing which should inspire others to do the same.
