An Oxford County family in need are earning their new house in Ingersoll.
INGERSOLL - Habitat for Humanity is planning a new project in Ingersoll.
CEO of Habitat for Humanity Heartland Jeff Duncan said the project is moving forward very quickly, "The committee is forming and getting going. They're actually pretty active at this point already. We don't have a day to start yet on that one, it'll be later this year."
"And so, over the next few weeks that will start to gel and take shape and we'll be able to make more announcements on that but it will be exciting to have three builds going on in Oxford County this year."
A family has already been selected for the new build, and they are currently working on their 'sweat equity.' To qualify for a Habitat for Humanity home, families must put in 500 hours of their own labour. A plot of land has been purchased for this project - according to the Habitat or Humanity Heartland website, it will be on Margaret Street.
This build marks the third active project in Oxford County - two other homes are being built on Main Street in Woodstock.
