Habitat For Humanity Building in Ingersoll

Donated home moving to Ingersoll

A donated home will be the new project for Habitat for Humanity Heartland's latest regional build.

OXFORD COUNTY - A full size bungalow that was donated in London, will be travelling up the highway to Oxford County for the next Habitat for Humanity Heartland regional build.

CEO Brian Elliot says it is the first move for them with a house this size and this far.

"We are actually going to lift this house up and we are going to transport it and put it on a new foundation in Ingersoll."

The bungalow will receive a brand new roof, and siding as well as upgrades before it's new owners take over.  They are looking to have a new family move in by May at the new location on Margaret St.

In the meantime, they are currently accepting applications from families interested in taking advantage of the interest free mortgage and volunteer aspect of the home build.

Elliot says it's not as difficult as people think to apply.

"We are looking for hard working Canadians that earn $33,600 and $64,500 per year, who have the ability to make the mortgage payment and have not great but decent credit and stability within their job."

Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario’s first Regional Build was in Ingersoll back in 2009.
