Our newly re-elected MPP already requesting the Environment Minister block the Walker Landfill proposal.
OXFORD COUNTY -- Ernie Hardeman is wasting no time when it comes to speaking out against the proposed Walker Landfill.
Just one day after the provincial Election, Ernie Hardeman sent off a letter to Jim Bradley letting him know each candidate agreed the Walker proposal should not be allowed at their proposed site in Beachville.
Hardeman continued by saying many members of the community have pointed out previously, locating a landfill on this site would put our community's drinking water at risk.
Further to that, Hardeman highlighted that the community is putting significant resources - both volunteer time and fundraised money - into fighting the landfill, something Hardeman says they should not have to do when there is already widespread agreement that this site is not appropriate
Hardeman is asking for an update on the status of the Terms of Reference as soon as possible.
