The Hot Mess in a Dress Fundraising Raffle will raise money for Jessica-Lyn Lee; a 25 year old woman battling stage 4 stomach cancer.
INNERKIP - The Innerkip community is rallying together to help one of their own.
A fundraising event will be held at the Innerkip Community Centre on Sunday August 12th, to help raise money for 25 year old Jessica-Lyn Lee's medical expenses.
Taylor Wilkinson, a close friend of hers, says Lee is battling a deadly disease while not covered by OHIP.
"She's in stage 4 stomach cancer. This treatment that she's currently stressed to pay for is the only treatment she is hoping that will help."
The family friendly event will include prize raffles, a 50/50 draw, free food, a DJ and kid's games. It will take place between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. and admission is free. You can find more information on their Facebook event page.
If you can't make it out the Jess-Lyn's Hot Mess in a Dress GoFundMe page is collecting donations. Wilkinson says it has been very successful so far.
"We have had a goal of $2,500 and we've beat that but any donation is amazing."
As of this afternoon, 44 people donated a total of $3,285.
