Hino Motors celebrated the 10 year anniversary of their Woodstock plant with a $25,000 to the local hospital.
WOODSTOCK - The Hino factory in Woodstock marked their 10th anniversary on Friday. To mark this occasion, the manufacturer donated $25,000 to Woodstock General Hospital.
Eric Smith, Senior Vice President of Sales and Customer Support tells us what sets the Woodstock plant apart from the rest.
"We're the only factory that produces medium duty and light duty trucks in Ontario. Most of our competitors manufacturer their trucks in other countries or overseas so that makes us very unique. I like to say that it makes us more domestic than the domestics because the trucks that we produce for the Canadian marketplace are produced by Canadians in Canada."
The plant also opened its doors to lots of visitors to celebrate this milestone, Smith gives us the details.
"We've had a celebration that has been attended by many dignitaries by both government level and from our head office in Japan as well and we had a celebratory lunch with our staff from our Hino factory and dealers from across Canada as well."
The factory provides over 75 full time jobs for Woodstock and the surrounding area.
