If you're doing some spring cleaning, here's your chance to get rid of any hazardous materials. This Saturday, the Woodstock Public Works Yard on James St. is hosting a waste collection depot for those items you can't put out to the curb. It's the first of three collection depots in the County. Next Saturday, May 12th, it's at the Tillsonburg Public Works Yard, and on June 2nd, it shifts to CAMI Automotive's parking lot. All three depots run from 8AM till Noon. Here's a list of the items you can and can't get rid of: Paint and solvents, motor oil, batteries, antifreeze, sharps, fluorescent lighting, household cleaners and pesticides, as well as electronics, tires without rims, scrap metal and old appliances. The waste collection depots do not collect PCB waste, asbestos, radioactive waste, flares or fireworks, pathological waste, small appliances or regular household garbage. They are also not intended for commercial or industrial customers.
