A 74-year-old has been charged by Woodstock Police after colliding with a post, driving over a pedestrian's foot, then colliding with a tree.
WOODSTOCK - A 74-year-old driver is facing impaired and dangerous driving charges after a collision in Woodstock.
On Sunday May 26, at approximately 6:25 p.m., the Woodstock Police Service responded to reports of an impaired driver in the area of Chieftan Street where a vehicle was observed colliding with a post.
Before police arrived, a pedestrian stopped to talk to the driver, but the driver proceeded to run over the pedestrian’s foot and drove away through the parking lot. When police made it to the scene, they observed the vehicle had then collided with a tree.
The driver was transported to hospital for treatment.
As a result of the investigation, the 74-year-old driver is facing the following charges:
· One count of operation while impaired – alcohol and drug; and
· One count of dangerous operation causing bodily harm.
