Police say a 30 year old from Hamilton was drunk when they slammed into the back of a van on the 401 early Sunday morning in SWOX and a 40 year old from Vienna was arrested in Tillsonburg on Sunday night.
SOUTH-WEST OXFORD - A 30 year old from Hamilton has been charged with impaired driving and failure to stop after a crash on the 401 near Woodstock in SWOX.
Police say the driver slammed their sedan into the back of a van around 4:00 am on Sunday morning. The impact caused the van to hit the median before coming to a rest. The driver of the van was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
OPP say the driver of the sedan, tried to walk away from the crash and was quickly apprehended. They were charged with the following:
- Operation While Impaired
- Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
- Failure to Stop After Accident

TILLSONBURG - A 40 year old from Vienna was arrested on charges of impaired driving in Tillsonburg or Sunday night.
Police say they pulled over a vehicle on Simcoe Street around 10:00 pm. Officers say it was obvious the driver had consumed alcohol and they were taken back to the detachment for testing.
The driver was charged with the following:
- Operation While Impaired
- Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock at a later date.
