The Town of Ingersoll will continue to maintain the ice pad at the arena during the stay at home order.
INGERSOLL - They are not ready to throw in the towel on the minor hockey season in the Town of Ingersoll just yet.
Director of Community Services Kyle Stefanovic says the ice pad at the arena is being maintained during the current stay at home orders.
"The decision was to maintain and keep the ice in for now and it will come up again at the February 8th meeting. The discussion at the last meeting was to keep the ice in and maintain it and then we will reassess at the next council meeting on the 8th, depending on how the pandemic situation is."
The hope is that the user groups may be able to return to the ice, when the lockdown orders are lifted. This includes minor hockey, adult recreation groups, West Oxford Inferno Girls Hockey and figure skating.
Town Council will look at this issue again at their next meeting in February, to decide what to do with the ice pads.
