The Town of Ingersoll is building a war chest for the fight against the landfill on its borders. Last night at Ingersoll's budget meeting, council approved putting 100-thousand dollars aside for legal fees for the coming year. Ingersoll's Mayor Ted Comiskey tells Heart FM the money could be used for possible peer-review environmental studies, or legal opinions. But at this point, the purpose for that money is unknown. "What we did, is we put some dollars aside just being proactive. To make sure that we have something set up, rather than going into a deficit situation if something arises. If it's not used than we'll put it into our reserves for future legal." Comiskey is also encouraging all residents that have questions about the landfill proposal to get them answered today. "Everybody get out there. If you have questions on this, please, get out to the Quality Inn today. And talk with Walker. Ask those questions. Get those questions answered. We do not believe that a landfill this close to the boundary of Ingersoll is a good thing to have happen. So we have to learn as much as possible at this point and time when we're going into this process." Walker Environmental is hosting a public meeting from 2-8PM today at Woodstock's Quality Inn and Suites.
