One student from each Oxford County municipality will go on the cultural trip of a lifetime through the International Student Exchange.
Oxford County is giving one student from each municipality the opportunity to travel Europe with the International Student Exchange program.
Students will get the opportunity to travel to either France, Germany, Italy, Spain or Switzerland.
ISE Volunteer Bryan Smith tells Heart FM that the program offers students new cultural experiences as well as opportunities to learn more about their own personal abilities.
"With Oxford County's support there are also opportunities for them to look at economic, environmental and social sustainability, given that those European countries have been doing that for thousands of years there might be some lessons we can learn from that."
The program runs between 9-12 weeks where students not only get to live with their European buddy, but bring them back here to Oxford County to share their own culture.
Smith says from his perspective and as a parent the exchange program is an excellent opportunity.
"Explore those very exciting possibilities, live with someone in that country, have that someone come and live here with them and their family in our country and share that experience with their friends, their families and the broader public."
Applications for the 2018 programs are now open and will close in October.
