OXFORD COUNTY - The MPP for Oxford County and the Minister of Agriculture Food and Rural Affairs Ernie Hardeman called into Heart FM today to talk about the supply chain and vaccines.
Hardeman joined News Director Chris McMillan to discuss the following:
- The Cargill poultry processing plant being shut down for 2 weeks after 82 employees tested positive for COVID-19 and the impact this will have on the supply chain.
- Why the decision was made to close the plant immediately.
- What will happen to the chicken farmers who rely on the Cargill plant and what they will do with their birds in the meantime.
- The vaccine rollout in Oxford County and Ontario.
- Explaining why we have vaccines in the freezer and that every single dose is accounted for.
- The pharmacy rollout and the Ag Minister was asked why some pharmacies were on the list released Monday but hadn't been contacted by the Province or applied to have the vaccines.
