Many topics were discussed while Warden Marcus Ryan joined the Heart FM Morning Show for his bi-weekly interview.
OXFORD COUNTY - It was another edition of the Warden interview on Heart FM.
Today on the morning show, many topics were discussed, including Warden Marcus Ryan talking about his decision not to run in the upcoming municipal election. Drinking water was also a topic brought up during the interview and discussed at the latest County Council meeting. There was a boil water advisory recently in Tavistock, after a water main broke. Warden Marcus Ryan says the County has had a great track record.
"For precautionary reasons, you assume that it is the drinking water that's contaminated, and so you say to everybody, boil your water. Every single time so far, what it's turned out it was not, in fact, the drinking water. It was something in the process of washing your hands, putting on the gloves, getting that little jar, and taking the sample, and then you clear the boil water advisory."
Homelessness was another topic discussed during the meeting. Ryan said a motion was put forward for a 24-hour support centre and shelter, which would bring emergency care primarily, but also provide services to transition someone out of homelessness. Ryan mentions what the next steps are.
"So, Councillor Tate brought forward a motion yesterday to council to have public engagement and talk to the public about where that's going to be and what that's going to look like, how it's going to function and all those kinds of things."
Ryan added that Council agreed with the motion and has asked staff to do research and bring back a report. If you would like to hear everything that was talked about while Marcus Ryan was on the Heart FM Morning Show, you can listen to the full interview below.
