WOODSTOCK - Maple Leafs Defenceman and Woodstonian Jake Muzzin is going to miss the rest of the series against Columbus.
Muzzin was taken to the hospital following an on-ice collision in the third period last night. He was taken off the ice in a stretcher, however he was alert and able to move all of his limbs.
The Maple Leafs PR team put out a statement this morning saying the following:
"After being transported to the hospital following an on-ice collision last night, Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Jake Muzzin is back at the team's hotel.
Muzzin was discharged overnight but will not be available to the club for the duration of its series versus the Columbus Blue Jackets as a result of his injuries. He will remain in quarantine within the hotel and look to rejoin his teammates upon recovery."
As part of the NHL's plan for the rest of the season, any player who leaves the bubble for any period of time is required to quarantine for a minimum of 4 days.
The Leafs beat Columbus 3-0 last night, tying the best of 5 series at a game a piece. Game 3 goes tomorrow night at 8 pm.
